Judge a test edit, not a portfolio. Most long-form channels are cut in Premiere Pro or Final Cut, and a lot of short-form gets made in CapCut or DaVinci Resolve. The software matters far less than the person using it, the same timeline produces very different retention depending on the pacing decisions made inside it. We work in the industry-standard suites and match the style already working on your channel.

Short-form editing is cutting vertical video for Shorts, Reels and TikTok, usually under 90 seconds, built around a hook in the first second or two, with fast pacing, captions and sound design aimed at getting the video watched all the way through. It's a different discipline to long-form: the goal is completion rate and shares, not one sustained narrative.

You can, and most creators lose a lot of hours to it. The workflow is: pull the strongest standalone moments out of the long video, reframe to 9:16 with the subject centred, caption it, and publish on a consistent schedule. The parts that decide whether a video holds attention, pacing, joke placement, story order, tone, are done by an editor who has watched your footage. We don't send back an automated cut and call it edited.
